- After writing 35 cookbooks, performing as a professional cellist, recording 30 music CDs, and traveling the world to meet with chefs and enjoy their fine restaurants —it’s time to write about some of all this. My office is stuffed to the gills with cookbooks, cooking magazines, newspaper recipe clipping, stacks of music, art books, and travel articles. I resolve to start documenting my cooking successes and failures, and I'll write about music, art, artisan foods, travel, things that interest me everyday, and my observations on any number of odd topics. I hope to cause a few laughs and maybe inspire other cooks and food lovers, musicians, and travelers.
